“OB Week 2022” is a student-driven activity based assignment spearheaded by the
Department of Human Resource Management which was held from 21 st July 2022 to 31 st July
2022 aligned with the course “HRM 2101 – Organizational Behaviour” for the 2 nd Year
undergraduates of the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya. Students allocated
to 22 groups, organized many activities varying from webinars by guests, interactive games
in the faculty premises, showcasing short films, workshops, film reviews, and quiz
competitions. The series of mini-projects were successfully conducted with the aim of
improving the capabilities and soft skills of the undergraduates by giving them the
opportunity to yield their creative and organizing skills while disseminating knowledge and
practically applying the concepts in Organization Behaviour.
Distinguished personalities from various fields supported the endeavour by sharing their
knowledge via webinars on “Managing Conflicts” (by Ms. Bishmi Rajapaksha),
“Organizational Culture” (by Mr. Navin Rupasinghe), “Wake up with Attitudes” (by Mr.
Samalka Rathnasooriya), “Emotional Intelligence” (by Dr. Lalith Weragoda), “OB Trends”
(by Ms. Rasanjalie Dedunu), “Impact of Childhood on Personality Disorders” (by Dr. N.
Kumaranayaka) and “Managing Discrimination in Organizations” (by Dr. Nilushika
Chandima Jayasinghe).
Students demonstrated their creative abilities while exhibiting short films produced by
themselves to share learning related to perception barriers, cognitive dissonance, motivation,
leadership and diversity addressed in Organizational Behaviour. Some groups organized
games and competitions in an attempt to practically execute concepts learnt about leadership,
team work, motivation and attitudes in-class.
