The Department of Management Studies organized a guest lecture on Business Plans as part of the course MGT 2201 - Entrepreneurship. The guest lecture took place on October 10, 2024, at 10:00 am in the Main Hall, Faculty of Management. Dr. Tissa Ravinda Perera, Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Management and Finance, University of Colombo, was invited as the resource person for this session.
The event commenced with a focus on the key components of a business plan, including market analysis, financial forecasting, and strategic planning. Using various examples, Dr. Perera explained how to structure a comprehensive business plan and highlighted its importance in securing investments, managing startup ventures, and guiding business growth. The session emphasized the role of a business plan as a critical tool for entrepreneurs to articulate their vision and navigate the complexities of the business environment. The lecture concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students had the opportunity to clarify their doubts and engage in discussions. Ms. Yashoda Seneviratne, one of the lecturers in charge of the course, thanked and presented a token of appreciation to Dr. Perera for his valuable contribution.
