Outbound Training Program (OBT) for the Teachers of Bamunakotuwa Central College

Department of Management Studies, Faculty of Management, in collaboration with Marshal Division of the University of Peradeniya, organized an Outbound Training Program for the teachers of Bamunakotuwa Central College on 29th June 2023. Mr. WAA. Werahera, Chief Marshal, and his team conducted the training from 9 am in the faculty premises after a presentation on the paradigm shift in teaching, which was conducted by Mr. DIJ. Samaranayake, Senior lecturer attached to the Department of Management Studies, Faculty of Management.

The primary purpose of this event was to improve the leadership and teaching skills of the school teachers. A variety of activities were conducted by the marshal’s division, which was focused on improving Team working, creativity, social skills, analytical, critical skills, and teacher leadership. After the end of the training, an appreciation ceremony took place, in which the Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, Professor MD. Lamawansa graced the occasion. Teachers also showcased their talents using stage performances, after which all teachers were awarded certificates for their enthusiasm and active participation.

The officers of the Marshal Division, lecturers, and undergraduate students of the Department of Management Studies also gave their active participation and support for the program. The principal of Bamunakotuwa Central College and senior teachers also participated with great energy and enthusiasm. As the Department of Management Studies, we hope to continue such meaningful programs in the future as well towards a society full of great leadership skills.
