The Department of Management Studies organized a field visit to the Pallekele Industrial Zone on the 26th of May 2023, to provide students with practical exposure to the industry. All the 2000 level, 3000 level, and 4000 level students participated in the field visit with the Head, Department of Management Studies and other academic members of the department.
First, the students arrived at Nobles Manufacturing Pvt Ltd, and the company gave them an introductory lecture to give them a general understanding of their daily manufacturing process. Afterward, they took the students on a factory tour to put that knowledge into practice. Then the students went to the ELSTEEL company, a steel manufacturing entity. And there also the manufacturing manager gave us all the information we needed to understand their process in depth. They clearly demonstrated each step of their procedure to throw showing their workplace.
Students could gain precise practical experience in the manufacturing industry, and it was an excellent opportunity for us to put their theoretical knowledge to practice in a real-world setting. Further, with the active participation of the students and staff, the field visit was successfully conducted, and it was an excellent experience for students. The department is hoping to plan similar sessions in the near future as well.
