Vision for Life -2022 was a career motivation program organized by the
undergraduates of 2020/21 batch of the Faculty of Management in collaboration
with the Career Guidance Unit, University of Peradeniya. The event was also
considered as a component of continuous assessment of the course: MGS 1201-
Fundamentals of Social Sciences. The event took place on 19 th October, 2022 at the University Gymnasium from 8.00 a.m. to 12.00
p.m. Ms. Sumudu Lankathilaka, a Career Guidance Advisor and Mr. Suchinthana Dasun, a
Career Guidance Counselor were invited as the resource persons.
The objectives of the event were twofold: creating awareness on vision; and educating about the
importance of personal development. Social sciences hold a view that social progression also
depends on personal growth and development. The importance of personal vision statement was
the focal point of the event, which has motivated the students to create
their own vision and work accordingly. Further, besides the
conceptual awareness, practical activities were also conducted in
order to ease the understanding and the methodology behind formation of
personal vision and career path. Students and staff of the department were keenly
participated in the session and motivated towards vision for their life.
