“Cuenta’ 2019” was organized by the Department of Business Finance, Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya in collaboration with its Accounting & Finance Students’ Society on March 12, 2019. The Dean – Faculty of Management, Heads of Departments, the staff and students of the Department of Business Finance and Industry Experts representing Association of Kandy Chartered Accountants were graced the occasion. The aims of Cuenta’ 2019 were threefold: launching the Industry Mentoring Programme; welcoming the new batch of Accounting & Finance; and felicitating the team represented the Department in winning the Inter-University Finance Quiz Competitions. The Industry Mentoring Programme organized by the Department of Business Finance aims to facilitate its students in getting guidance and direction from the industry experts in the Accounting and Finance discipline in crafting their future careers. In this programme, industry experts act as mentors for the students of the Department who will meet them in regular intervals to discuss and set targets to develop their professional careers. Further, as a partial component of welcoming third year students to the Department of Business Finance, an Outbound Training Session was organized at the University Grounds to develop their teamwork and interpersonal relationships. The staff members and students of the Department of Business Finance were actively participated in the event.
