The Faculty Seminar for the month of January 2020 was held on January 07, 2020 at the Faculty Auditorium. The resource person was Dr. Nuresh Eranda, Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Management. This seminar was conducted on the title of,
Qualitative research: an overview. The event was graced by the Dean of the faculty, Heads of the departments, academic staff members and the students. The purpose of this session was to inculcate the academic staff members and the students by disseminating knowledge and sharing experience of the expertise in the field of qualitative research with reference to Business Management.
This seminar covered the big picture should be familiarized as a qualitative researcher by maintaining the consistency among the components of a research. Further, the philosophical assumptions, quality assurance procedure, and different qualitative research approaches were also discussed. Particularly, this session has given more emphasis on qualitative analysis including research approach based strategies and the generic strategy of qualitative analysis. Accordingly, the generic qualitative analysis process was mainly discussed namely coding, sorting, synthesizing and theorizing. Finally, the several qualitative data presentation techniques were presented including some of the software aided techniques. This seminar was ended with an effective question and answer session.
