The closing ceremony of the Capacity Building Program for the Regional Economic Development Agency (REDA) organized by the Center for Skills for Life, Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya was successfully held on the 06th of August 2023 at the faculty premises.
The Centre for Skills for Life, Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya held the Felicitation Ceremony of the Industry Mentorship Program 2023 on 28th of July 2023 from 10.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. at the Faculty Auditorium. The Welcome Ceremony for the new entrants to the Postgraduate Programmes 2022-2023 Academic Year, Postgraduate Unit, Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya was successfully conducted on 08th of January 2023 at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Management with the participation of 29 students together with the teaching panel of the Postgraduate Unit.
The AHEAD Building of the Faculty of Management was declared open by the Vice Chairman, University Grants Commission, and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya on the 02nd December 2022. The commemorative plaque was unveiled by the Vice Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Senior Prof. Chandana P. Udawatte, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. W.M.T. Madhujith, the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Prof. E.M.A.S.B. Ekanayake and the distinguished guests.
An awareness session on Student Mentoring for academic staff members was organized by the Student Affairs Committee of the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya on 10 th November 2022 at the Faculty Auditorium. The main aim of this session was to lay the foundation knowledge on handling students" mental state while enriching the role of an academic mentor. The session provided a solid knowledge base together with a set of skills that a mentor needs to inculcate in handling a mentee. Prof. Athula Ekanayake, Dean, Faculty Management welcomed the gathering while highlighting the importance of the session for staff members.

The Student Affairs Committee of the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya conducted a seminar for GCE (Advanced Level) Commerce stream students of the Harangala National College, Nawalapitiya on 09th November, 2022 at the Faculty Auditorium. The purpose of this seminar was to broaden the understanding of the GCE (Advanced Level) Commerce stream students regarding the career opportunities in the Commerce stream. This is a CSR initiative of the Faculty of Management to serve the community particularly school education.
A seminar was organized by the Student Affairs Committee of the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya for the GCE (Advanced Level) Commerce stream students of the Newstead College, Negambo on the 28th October 2022 at the Faculty Auditorium. The aim of the seminar was to provide an awareness to the Advanced Level Commerce stream students regarding the career opportunities in the Commerce stream. Ms. Kethaki Kumarasiri , Lecturer attached to Department of Operations Management conducted the session and emphasized the importance of balancing both academic and extra- curricular activities. The Faculty Internship Committee and the Undergraduate Research Committee collaboratively organized the Management Undergraduate Internship & Research Symposium 2022 on 21st of October 2022 at the Faculty of Management. This symposium is a unique event in the Management Faculty"s annual calendar as it creates a great platform to select the "Best Intern" and the "Best Undergraduate Researcher" of the year among the final year undergraduates of Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Honours and Bachelor of Commerce (B. mainly in the seminar which has been recognized as a Faculty CSR initiative while broadening

The most awaited talent adventure of the year, "Talento"2022" was successfully staged on October 15, 2022, at the E.O.E. Pereira Theatre at the University of Peradeniya for the second consecutive time. "Talento" is the Annual Talent Show of the University of Peradeniya, organized by the Marketing Management Students" Society in collaboration with the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya. "Talento" is one of the most glamorous events in the Faculty of Management and the main purpose of the event was to provide a platform for the undergraduates of the University of Peradeniya to showcase their talents and creativity and to sharpen their event-organizing skills.

The ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Peradeniya and the Association of Human Resource Professionals (AHRP) took place on 14th September 2022 in the Senate Room of the University of Peradeniya. Representing the two institutions, this MoU has been signed by Professor M.D. Lamawansa, Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, and Mr. Roshan Kulasuriya, President, AHRP, and Director, HR and Business Integration at Singer Sri Lanka.
The Business Incubation and Innovation Ecosystem Services (BIIES) Unit, Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya organized the event “Innovation Day – 2022”. In line with “Innovation Day – 2022”, the New Business Idea Competition and the Business Plan Competition were also conducted on the 06 th of September 2022 to sharpen the undergraduates’ innovative skills. The -undergraduates of the Faculty were present at the New Business Idea competition and Mr. A. Mithursan was able to secure first place by presenting his business idea to academics in the field of entrepreneurship, local authorities, and government agents related to Small and Medium Enterprise Development.
The Faculty Internship Committee and the Center for Skills for Life collaboratively organized the "Industry Day 2022" on the theme "Stepping Across the Line: The First Step Towards the Space 'Industry’, Twenty-two prestigious organizations conducted the interview sessions, and twenty-eight interview panels were run throughout the day. Industry Day 2022 provided students with valuable opportunities to secure internship opportunities in the industry. Prof. Athula Ekanayake, Dean of the Faculty of Management, as well as other academic and non-academic staff members, graced the event. As the event's guest speaker, Prof. Dileep De Silva, Director of the Career Guidance Unit, delivered an inspirational speech targeting the undergraduates who were about to embark on their journey up the corporate ladder. The Faculty Internship Committee would like to wish all students success as they start their journey in the work of world.
The fifteenth session of the “Faculty Working Paper Series” was conducted virtually on August 03, 2022. Ms. Thakshila Kumudumali from the Department of Operations Management, Mr. Ranura Perera from the Department of Human Resource Management, and Mr. Darshana Bandara from the Department of Marketing Management made the presentation based on the title, "Degree of Effectiveness of Virtual Learning Mode in Sri Lanka: With Reference to State Universities in Sri Lanka".

The maiden launch of the Department e-magazine “The Essence of Marketing” is set to take place on the 10 th of May, 2 PM onwards at the Faculty auditorium. The magazine “The Essence of Marketing” is published by the Marketing Management Students’ Society in collaboration with the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya with the aim of providing the students with a platform to publicize articles related to Marketing Management, opinion pages, interviews and its insights, or a write up of case studies. The event will take place in the presence of the Dean of the Faculty, all the Heads of Departments, lecturers and students of the Department of Marketing Management.
Students Affairs Committee of the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya conducted a seminar on “Transportation, Supply Chain and Insurance” for the Advanced Level Commerce stream students of the CP/H/Ambagamuwa Central College on 5 th May,2022 at the Faculty Auditorium. This is a CSR initiative of the Student Affairs Committee, assisting the Advanced Level Commerce stream students to broaden their understanding on the important topics in the GCE Advanced Level syllabi. Mr. Sameera Fernando, Chairman of the Students Affairs Committee welcomed the students and the staff of the CP/H/Ambagamuwa Central College whilst Prof. Athula Ekanayake, Dean, Faculty of Management addressed the students sharing inspirational thoughts. Ms. Yashoda Senevirathne and Ms. Wathsala Niwarthana, the resource persons for this seminar, delivered their speeches on the topics of Transportation and Supply Chain and Insurance respectively.
The Organizational Management Students' Society, Department of Management Studies, under the course MGS 4102: Sustainability in Organizations organized a ‘Tree Planting Event’ on April 27th 2022 to commemorate Earth Day (April 22nd ) with the theme "Invest in our Planet." The tree planting event took place with the welcome note provided by the Lecturer-in-Charge and the Senior Treasurer of the Society Ms. A.S.Shiromy. The event served primarily two purposes: to ensure that human dignity is protected not only for a healthy planet but also in a healthy planet; and to remember that trees are a symbol of dignity, prolonged existence, sustainability, and robustness. To make all the purposes a reality, Prof. E.M.A.S.B. Ekanayake, Dean, Faculty of Management, planted a tree. Later, Head of the Department, Lecturer-in-Charge and students of the Department of Management Studies planted trees thereafter. In the end, the tree planting event was declared to be carried out every year.
The Undergraduate Research Symposium 2020, organized by the Undergraduate Research Committee of the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya was held on 28th June 2021 via Zoom platform. Undergraduate Research Symposium is an annual event organized to select ‘The Best Researcher of the Year’ from the undergraduates of the Faculty of Management. Undergraduate Research Symposium provides a platform for the undergraduates of the Faculty of Management to showcase their research skills through presenting the results they gained through their independent research project/ dissertation.
The Management Internship Diaries 2020, organized by the Internship Committee of the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya was held on 18th June 2021 via Zoom platform. Management Internship Diaries is an annual competition organized to select ‘The Best Intern of the Year’ from those who participated in the Internship Programme in the particular academic year. Management Internship Diaries provides a platform for the undergraduates of the Faculty of Management to showcase their skills through presenting internship experience and the results they gained through the internship project.
The Orientation Programme for the new entrants to the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Honours Degree Programme - 2021-2022 Academic Year, Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya was successfully conducted from the 08th of March to the 11th of March 2022. The Inauguration Ceremony of the Orientation Programme was held on the 08th of March at the Gymnasium of the University of Peradeniya with the participation of 171 students together with their parents, adhering to the COVID-19 health guidelines. Professor M.D. Lamawansa, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya was the Chief Guest, and the event was graced by Professor M.D.T. Madujith, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, Professor E.M.A.S.B. Ekanayake, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Deans of the other Faculties of the University of Peradeniya, Heads of the Academic Departments and Units of the Faculty of Management and the academic and non-academic staff members of the Faculty of Management. Furthermore, Professor Rasnayaka M. Mudiyanse, Director, Staff Development Centre, University of Peradeniya delivered an inspirational speech on “University Life”. He proposed a comprehensive framework for the undergraduates to develop themselves as responsible citizens in the future.

Yogendran from the Department of Management Studies on the title, A Study on the Experience of Rural Entrepreneurs’ Competitiveness during the COVID-19 Outbreak: A Phenomenological Study
. The paper was reviewed by Ms. R. M. C. Kumari from the Department of Management Studies.
The second Peradeniya University International Management Research Sessions (iPUMSE) – 2021 organized by the Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka was held on 26th November, 2021 via hybrid format amidst the prevailing COVID – 19 pandemic situation. Considering the impact of the pandemic on businesses, theme of the conference was set as “Value Co-Creation in Crisis”. The ultimate aim was to build an awareness among the academia and the industry on how businesses could survive and thrive during crisis situations.
