It is with great enthusiasm that I welcome you to the English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU) of the Faculty of Management at the University of Peradeniya.

The ELTU is committed to enhancing English language proficiency for both academic achievement and effective communication. As an integral part of the Department of English Language Teaching, we strive to equip learners with the skills necessary to succeed in their studies and beyond.

Our programmes include the Intensive English Programme, the Certificate Course in Business English, and English Language for Management (ELM). These courses are designed to offer a dynamic and engaging learning experience, making the process of language acquisition both meaningful and enjoyable.

In addition to our academic offerings, we provide a wide range of co-curricular activities such as competitions, interactive workshops, talent shows, and student-led events. These experiences help students apply their language skills in real-world contexts while encouraging creativity, confidence, and collaboration.

We also work in close partnership with other departments to integrate diverse disciplinary perspectives into our teaching, ensuring the practical relevance of the language skills developed.
