The ceremony to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of
Peradeniya and the Association of Human Resource Professionals (AHRP) took place on 14th
September 2022 in the Senate Room of the University of Peradeniya. Representing the two
institutions, this MoU has been signed by Professor M.D. Lamawansa, Vice Chancellor of the
University of Peradeniya, and Mr. Roshan Kulasuriya, President, AHRP, and Director, HR and
Business Integration at Singer Sri Lanka.
This collaboration aims to offer Affiliate Membership for HRM undergraduates and provide
opportunities to participate in HR Forums, HR Big Bus Tours, HR Think Tanks, and Bite – Size
Learning Sessions to facilitate the provision of knowledge and professional training in relation to
the human resource management functions and the inculcation of a plethora of comprehensive
skills via AHRP undergraduate capability development program, that will undoubtedly support
the undergraduates, who are featuring the future workforce of the county to succeed, particularly
as professionals in the field of Human Resources Management.
Prof. E.M.A.S.B. Ekanayake, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Ms. E.M.W.A Edirisooriya,
Head of the Department, and the academic staff members of the Department of Human Resource
Management of the Faculty of Management, Dr. Chandana Wijayanama, Executive Vice
President AHRP and Organization and HR Director, Siam City Cement Ltd have also graced the
occasion.
