The Department of Marketing Management recently hosted an engaging session for Emerging Themes of Marketing course unit with Lonali Rodrigo, the Founder of House of Lonali. In her talk, "Unlocking Success: Entrepreneurial Marketing Insights," Lonali shared her journey in creating Sri Lanka’s leading up-cycling brand. She discussed the challenges and strategies involved in developing a sustainable apparel brand and addressed the environmental impact of the fashion industry. It was interactive and featured compelling audiovisual clips. Lonali highlighted how House of Lonali combines local Sri Lankan culture with global reach, showcasing sustainability as a key part of Sri Lankan traditions and art forms. She also spoke about her unique collaboration with a dancer, an artist, a poet, and an architect, which she calls "an art with no name," reflecting the deep cultural connections within her brand.
This session offered valuable insights into how entrepreneurial marketing can blend business success with cultural and environmental responsibility.
