The Department of Operations Management in collaboration with Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka (Pvt) Ltd organized a field visit to the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA), Katunayake on the 23rd of June 2023 for the 3000 Level undergraduates specializing in Operations Management. The main purpose of this visit was to provide students with practical exposure to the operations and different supporting processes of an international airport.
The students were able to explore the entire process at BIA, including visits to arrival and departure terminals, the airport fire and rescue unit, the air traffic control tower, and the airport cargo and air freight management unit.
