The Centre for Skills for Life, Faculty of Management organized an industry mentorship day on September 12, 2024, to honor the immense services rendered by industry professionals in the form of mentoring the final-year undergraduates of the Faculty. Nearly one hundred and twenty students benefitted from the industry mentoring programme. A well-structured programme like this is impossible without the support of almost seventy mentors representing diverse industries.
The purpose of this programme is to provide students with opportunities to interact with mentors and develop a personalized career development strategy. Mr. Jeevaka Weerakone, former Chief Operating Officer of Aitken Spence Hotels Private Limited, delivered the keynote address on ‘Building and Sustaining Your Career’.
This event was graced by Professor R.H. Kuruppuge, Dean, Faculty of Management, Dr. N. Agilan, Chairperson, Centre for Skills for Life, Heads of the Departments, academic and academic support staff, and final year undergraduates (mentees).
