Opening Ceremony of the AHEAD Building, Faculty of Management
The AHEAD Building of the Faculty of Management was declared open by the Vice Chairman, University Grants Commission, and the Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya on the 02 nd December 2022. The commemorative plaque was unveiled by the Vice Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Senior Prof. Chandana P. Udawatte, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Prof. W.M.T. Madhujith, the Dean of the Faculty of Management, Prof. E.M.A.S.B. Ekanayake and the distinguished guests.
At the inaugural ceremony the Vice Chairman of the University Grants Commission, Senior Prof. Chandana P. Udawatte who is serving as the Project Director of the Operations and Monitoring Support Team (OMTS) of AHEAD Grants expressed his appreciation for the completion of the new building under AHEAD grants. This building has been constructed with the funding received from the AHEAD Faculty Development Grant which the faculty has secured after competing with all the tier 1 Management Faculties in the country. The newly constructed building is an invaluable resource for the development of the faculty and it consists of a conference hall, a smart classroom, two lecture halls, an examination hall, and two Centers namely the Center for Skills for Life and Business Incubation and Innovation Ecosystem Services Unit (BIIES) established under the AHEAD project.
