Colloquium of “Staff of Operations Research Talk (SORT)” the flagship event of Department of Operations Management was successfully held on 03rd July, 2020 at the Faculty Board Room, Faculty of Management University of Peradeniya. Prof. E.M.A.S.B. Ekanayake, Acting Dean, Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya, Dr. S. Maheshwaran, Head, Department of Operations Management and Head of Departments were graced the occasion.
At this occasion, Dr. N.W.K. Galahitiyawe, Senior Lecturer, Department of Decision Sciences, Faculty of Management Studies & Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura conducted a guest speech titled “Key Concerns in Social Science Research Design. A Positivist Approach” on virtual basis followed by a joint presentation titled “Shifting from Necessity driven to Agency driven: A study of entrepreneurial motivation among small entrepreneurs in central province, Sri Lanka” by Dr. S. Maheswaran and Ms. Y.Y. Senavirathne. The launching of the SORT Proceeding Vol. 01, which is a collection off working papers presented at the Staff of Operations Research Talk (SORT) session was add glamour to the session.
