The most awaited talent adventure of the year, “Talento’2022” was successfully staged on October 15, 2022, at the E.O.E. Pereira Theatre at the University of Peradeniya for the second consecutive time. “Talento” is the Annual Talent Show of the University of Peradeniya, organized by the Marketing Management Students’ Society in collaboration with the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Management, University of Peradeniya. “Talento” is one of the most glamorous events in the Faculty of Management and the main purpose of the event was to provide a platform for the undergraduates of the University of Peradeniya to showcase their talents and creativity and to sharpen their event-organizing skills.
The event was graced by Prof. M.D. Lamawansa, Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya as the Chief Guest along with Prof. W.M.T. Madujith, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, Prof. E.M.A.S.B. Ekanayake, Dean of Faculty of Management, Deans of other Faculties, Heads of the Departments, Faculty of Management, Academic members of the Faculty of Management, along with many dignitaries from the corporate sector.
Forty (40) talented contestants were eligible to perform at the Grand Finale, which was selected by an expert panel of judges through two auditions, a semi-final held on September 18, 2022, September 22, 2022, and September 28, 2022, respectively under seven (07) segments namely Singing, Dancing, Video Content Creation, Painting, Stand-up Comedy, Instrumental.
The whole audience was fascinated by the stunning performances of the contestants at the Grand Finale. The elegant performance of National and International award-winning Musician Saman Lenin and Visharad Nilakshi Helapitiya added more glamour to the event.
The event was enthralled by the eminent panel of judges consisting of Musician Saman Lenin, Visharad Nilakshi Helapitiya, Ms. Nimna Preshani, Lecturer, Visual & Performing Arts, Mr. Vishwa Sankanath, Actor, Teacher and Choreographer, Ms. M.D.D.S Priyangani, Dr. Manoj Alawathukotuwa, Senior Lecturer, Department of Fine Arts, Faculty of Arts and Ms. Jayamini Amarasinghe.
