Coordinator's Message

Higher education institutes all over the world ensure well-planned quality assurance procedures are in place to enable their graduates to possess the required knowledge, skills and attitudes by increasing their employability and supporting successful career outcomes. Similarly, enduring quality assurance practices have enabled the University of Peradeniya to stand as a leading HEI institute in Sri Lanka and achieve high international recognition. Aligning with the well-established QA framework of the University, the Faculty of Management, as the youngest faculty of the university, is also actively engaging in QA activities, to get the maximum benefits of quality assurance to enhance the standards of the five-degree programmes offered by the faculty. The Faculty of Management has a well-functioning internal quality assurance cell, which is led by the Dean of the Faculty and a committee representing academic, administrative and non-academic staff members, external industry experts and students. The faculty of management is blessed with qualified staff members who have recognised quality assurance as a part and partial of their role and responsibility, and who are dedicated to ensuring the quality of the degree programmes as well as the University in every aspect continuously. In line with the university CQA, faculty IQAC aims to ensure the highest quality in pursuing education, learning and research and disseminating knowledge through a robust quality assurance system in the University. Accordingly, under the guidance of UGC and the university’s CQA, the faculty of management conducts both internal and external reviews on stipulated periods. The faculty faced the most recent external programme review conducted by the UGC in 2018 and secured an ‘A’ grade, the best grade that could be achieved. The next external review is expected in 2025. Faculty conducted its first internal programme review- IPR in 2024, with the participation of expert reviewers representing different faculties of the University. The final forum of IPR was a highly successful session, which provided invaluable insights for all five academic departments of the faculty as well as to the faculty administration on improving the quality of the programmes further.
