A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Unilever Sri Lanka and the University of Peradeniya on September 25, 2023. The ceremony was held in the senate room of the University of Peradeniya. Mr. Damith Abeyrathne, Supply Chain Director, Unilever Sri Lanka signed the MoU representing Unilever while Professor M.D. Lamawansa, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya and the Acting Registrar Mr. E.M.G.M.B Ekanayake signed on behalf of the university.
The momentous signing ceremony was graced by the presence of key figures such as Prof. R.H. Kuruppuge, the Dean of the Faculty of Management at the University of Peradeniya, Ms. R.M.U.R.K. Rathnayaka, Head of the Department of Marketing Management, as well as the other esteemed academic members of the Department of Marketing Management. Representatives from Unilever Sri Lanka were also in attendance, including Ms. Hiruni Perera, the Employer Brand & Talent Lead and HR Business Partner - Corporate Functions, Ms. Tahanee Harris, the Employer Brand & Talent Specialist and Assistant HR Business Partner, and Ms. Shehani Fernando, the Employer Brand Executive, along with other distinguished individuals.
Simultaneously we had the privilege of organizing the “Kathabaha" journey sharing session, with Mr. Damith Abeyrathne, Supply Chain Director at Unilever Sri Lanka, as the resource person and the session was moderated by Dr. Nuresh Eranda, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Management. Additionally, Unilever Sri Lanka facilitated a valuable CV workshop and CV clinic, featuring Ms. Hiruni Perera, Employer Brand & Talent Lead and HR Business Partner for Corporate Functions, along with Ms. Tahanee Harris, Employer Brand Specialist & Assistant HR Business Partner, Unilever Sri Lanka. The CV workshop and CV clinic added value to our ongoing Skills Development and Fine Arts Course, offering all participants a comprehensive educational journey that extended beyond the classroom and into the world of practical career development.
