Memorandum of Understanding between the University of Peradeniya and Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE)


A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Peradeniya and Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) Sri Lanka was signed on the 6th of February 2023, at the Senate Room of the University of Peradeniya.

Professor MD. Lamawansa, Vice-Chancellor, University of Peradeniya and Ms. MGJ. Dharmasiri, Acting Registrar, University of Peardeniya representing the University of Peradeniya and Mr. Rajeewa Bandaranayake, the Chief Executive Officer of CSE and Mr. Niroshan Wijesundere, the Senior Vice President, Marketing of CSE representing Colombo Stock Exchange Sri Lanka signed the MoU.

Through this MoU, the CSE makes arrangements to provide internship opportunities to students who are specialized in Accounting & Finance and sponsor an annual budget of up to Rs. 200,000 for capital market-related events, which the University of Peradeniya organizes in collaboration with the CSE. Moreover, the CSE will grant an award annually to the student who obtained the highest-Grade Point Average (GPA) in the Accounting & Finance Specialization area of the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) Honours Degree Programme.

Mr. Nishantha Batagalle, Manager, Branch Network, Mr. Tharaka Amarasena, Manage, Anuradhapura & Investor Education, Mr. Dhananjaya Abeysiriwardhana, Manager, Kandy branch and Mr. Madhawa Aramandeniya, Executive, Kandy branch also participate at the event representing the Colombo Stock Exchange, Sri Lanka.

Prof. EMASB. Ekanayake, Dean, Faculty of Management, Dr. Sujeewa Kodithuwakku, Head, Department of Business Finance, Mr.Uwin Ariyarathna, Coordinator - Industry Links of the Department of Business Finance, and academic staff members of the Department of Business Finance of the Faculty of Management also graced the event.
