The Faculty conducts an internship programme for the final year students with the intension to blend the theory and practice of the disciplines that the students learn during the program of study. Every student is sent to organizations outside the University based on the specialization field selected by student for a three month period. Students are required to maintain a diary of internship experience and submit a report at the end of the internship training. In addition students are required to make a comprehensive presentation on the experience gained. In addition, a presentation session is organized to choose the best interns in competitive basis under a program called ‘Management Internship Diaries.’
‘Management Day’ is organized to enhance the interaction and cohesion between the staff, students and the alumni. This program intends to improve in students managerial skills such as team building, events management and coordination and controlling etc. and network and connection building with the alumni. This event comprises sports events, exhibitions, and performing arts on a selected day.
With the objective of exposing the students to the best management practices in various public and private sector organizations, the Faculty organizes number of field visits for the students. During these field visits, students are given an opportunity to observe the actual execution of business. In addition, it is arranged that specialists from various functional areas of the organization share their knowledge with students.
The Faculty conducts regular seminars with the purpose of providing with students and staff an exposure to the experience of Business Leaders and findings of reputed academicians in the field of management.
Students’ Annual Research Sessions is an event organized by the Faculty with the objective of creating a graduate with research and presentation skills in order to make him/her more valuable to the job market. This session also intends to create a positive image of the Faculty in the industry.
There are two student societies associated with the Faculty at present. The Management Society is organized by the B.Com students while BIZTRA is organized by the BBA students. Both the societies regularly organize various events including Seminars and Workshops. In addition to the above societies PAMA (Postgraduate Association of Management and Accounting) also actively take part in activities such as Management Day.
The Faculty intends to introduce the student enterprise programme with the objective of exposing the undergraduates to real-life business experience. In this programme a few business opportunities will be identified within the university and be carried out by the undergraduates under the supervision of academics.
The Faculty intends to create a few clubs for identified co-curricular activities, such as sports, culture, nature, discovery, and creativity, etc.
